In the context of providing you with assistance in relation to your Will/power of attorney/trust requirements your Personal Data may include:

  • title, names, date of birth, gender, nationality, civil/marital status, contact details, addresses and documents that are necessary to verify your identity
  • employment and remuneration information, (including salary/bonus schemes/overtime/sick pay/other benefits), employment history
  • bank account details, tax information, loans and credit commitments, personal credit history, sources of income and expenditure, family circumstances and details of dependents
  • health status and history, details of treatment and prognosis, medical reports (further details are provided below specifically with regard to the processing we may undertake in relation to this type of information)
  • any pre-existing

 

This is how we collect the information:

  • Information you give us. This is information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our site yourlifeplanning.co.uk or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. It includes information you provide when you register to use our Website, place an order for a document and/or services on our Website and when you report a problem with our Website. The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, financial information and other information related to your assets or relating to your involvement in the estate of someone who has died. We do not share financial details with any third parties without your prior consent.

Yourlife Planning may wish to contact you for marketing purposes, however we would contact you for additional consent for that purpose if not already given.

Any third parties who we do pass your details onto are obliged to store your details securely and only process them if responding to Yourlife Planning on our behalf. When the time comes that they no longer require your personal data, they will dispose of this accordingly and in line with our company policy. We will do our utmost to keep your information accurate and up to date and not keep it longer than is necessary. Yourlife Planning may issue occasional reminders to all customers to keep their contact details up to date and will update them accordingly.

Please be advised that there is information that we are required to keep in accordance with the law, such as information needed for tax and audit purposes. Personal data may be held for longer than these periods, however this will depend on the individual needs of the company.

We will only ever contact you when necessary, or when you have requested that we do so. We do not mean at any point to be intrusive or ask for unnecessary information. Security and retention of Your Personal Data

Your privacy is important to us and we will keep Your Personal Data secure in accordance with our legal responsibilities. We will take reasonable steps to safeguard Your Personal Data against it being accessed unlawfully or maliciously by a third party.

We also expect you to take reasonable steps to safeguard your own privacy when transferring information to us, such as not sending confidential information over unprotected email, ensuring email attachments are password protected or encrypted and only using secure methods of postage when original documentation is being sent to us.

Your Personal Data will be retained by us either electronically or in paper format as l we will retain your data for a period of 6 years after to ensure that we are able to assist you should you have any questions or feedback in relation to our services.

Due to the nature of the services and pursuant to Article 17(3) GDPR, if you complete a will using our service we will securely store your data indefinitely. This is in order to protect against legal claims, as well as to provide supporting information if your will is ever contested.

Where we have processed your personal data to provide you with marketing communications with your consent, we may contact you at least every 12 months to ensure you are happy to continue receiving such communications. If you tell us that you no longer wish to receive such communications, your personal data will be removed from our list.

Your rights in relation to Your Personal Data

You can:

request copies of Your Personal Data that is under our control

  • ask us to further explain how we use Your Personal Data
  • ask us to correct, delete or require us to restrict or stop using Your Personal Data (details as to the extent to which we can do this will be provided at the time of any such request)
